lyrics
I, the defier of divine misanthropy
Deific cruelty I spit upon ‘tween labored breaths
How then doth absence bear such despondency?
We shall see as heedless neglect I reciprocate
At best a figment conjured by quixotic minds
At worst the all-pervading overlord forever I’ll despise
Pierce and perforate corrupt authority on high
I’m the apostle of one faith bereft
Of blood perfect to lie
The breaking of a heart shan’t cease its blackening
These onyx shards will bleed forth hatred deafening
Cradled in helpless arms the martyr I profess
Bleeding, more penance paid with innocence in vain
Empty longing come to be an altar unto me
For thee, our advocate for all humanity
Obsolete yet immortal with memories stained
By a premature end clasped with a chilled hand
Twenty-three years we saw endured
Transcends thirty-three unproved
Backs turned to the absence above
O come and let us mourn
Remove the padded shroud
No angel stood guard this day
Never the dead could rejoin our plane
When tombs unroll or pine doors sway
Sinners all, but who were we?
Flesh and blood physically seen
So did our patron saint arise
With death’s whisper chased that night
[Jake solo]
Set sail eternal on a short crimson fall
From life’s loud farewell trickles a lullaby
to melancholy hearts hum everlastingly
Awaiting kindred fate never on bended knee
You gave up
Your destiny forever unfulfilled
Maybe you’ve peace at last
O come and let us mourn

This album is raw emotion from start to finish. The guitar work is great, but I think this album really shines in its vocals. You can hear the emotional anguish in his voice, highly recommended. -Jake Astringency
This album is amazing, evil-sounding death metal. The production is raw, but never at the expense of the music. The lead guitar work is especially memorable. -Cameron Astringency
This album is an awesome callback to 90's symphonic black metal, and the production offers a modern take on classic sounds, like Emperor and Dissection. A must listen for fans of the genre! -Aaron Astringency

This album being played over the PA system at the museum where Salvador Dali's "The Persistence of Memory" is housed is what caused the faces of the clocks in the painting to melt. meeko

Since Spenser Moore replaced Blackburn I’ve frankly appreciated Inferi far more. I feel that his drumming improves the overall sound of the band a great deal, but it’s probably just a personal style preference. Either way, Of Sunless Realms was a great foreshadowing of the epic Vile Genesis. Metallurgical Fire
Channeling philosophical quandaries into cavernous death metal, the Australian trio turn modern power struggles into an aural advantage. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 13, 2022
