lyrics
An old familiar malady approaches doorstop once more
Unwelcome, unreasoned, uncorrupted evil to the core
Emptiness defined, dehumanized
Drained of want and self; a hollow rind
Welling up pure terror undefined
Surpassed by evermoving time
In the purgatory of an afflicted mind
Hell on earth manifested its deepest chasm inside
Pulmonary pressure, peritoneum’s pull
Psychosis sets in; brain plots against fragile soul
You and I don’t belong
In one piece
Twilight melts into a nightmare awake
Trancelike state breaking, dejection disgraced
Recrudescence: new monster alive
Through collective succor and singular pride
For those long lost rise above the mortal fray
Relieve the sickness, open the cage
Release of innocents rotting in pain
Every tear counted, ne’er cry out in vain
It will not fucking win this day
Could be a fate much worse than death
So sayeth the sufferers of every age
Therein lies the open door
Slip out the glorious exit
My most powerful tool betrays me again
Now a mere weapon dead set on my end
Ruiner of all most precious, contentment’s bitter foe
Too much, too many you’ve taken
Hateful intransigence grows
The night darkens…
So let us blacken further still
The golem crawls from the internal corridor
Stopped in its tracks, it never met a spirit so strong
For now alive
I
Most powerful
Mind
Is over all
These hellish depths survived by will
We are creatures too stubborn to fail
For those long lost rise above the mortal fray
It will not win this day

This album is raw emotion from start to finish. The guitar work is great, but I think this album really shines in its vocals. You can hear the emotional anguish in his voice, highly recommended. -Jake Astringency
This album is amazing, evil-sounding death metal. The production is raw, but never at the expense of the music. The lead guitar work is especially memorable. -Cameron Astringency
This album is an awesome callback to 90's symphonic black metal, and the production offers a modern take on classic sounds, like Emperor and Dissection. A must listen for fans of the genre! -Aaron Astringency
i checked out bands coming to my town, and xoth were on the list. at first i thought they were cheesy since i only liked metal to be deep, dark, and atmospheric .
i did enjoy the technical complexity, so i gave them another chance. i equated shredding with jockishness (ugh), but i now see it as a creative choice. i just had to approach it on my own terms, and xoth was the perfect gateway for this. they really opened up a new world for me. quasiotter
Since Spenser Moore replaced Blackburn I’ve frankly appreciated Inferi far more. I feel that his drumming improves the overall sound of the band a great deal, but it’s probably just a personal style preference. Either way, Of Sunless Realms was a great foreshadowing of the epic Vile Genesis. Metallurgical Fire
Channeling philosophical quandaries into cavernous death metal, the Australian trio turn modern power struggles into an aural advantage. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 13, 2022
